Lenovo today unveiled a new series of devices and services for businesses that support business transformation at Tech World Transform. The new ThinkStation P320 Tiny offers Independent Software Vendor (ISV) certification to ensure that customers’ mission-critical applications run smoothly on an incredibly small device that weighs just one liter. Lenovo’s PC as a Service (PCaaS) offering includes a fully customizable, fixed-price subscription model that combines hardware and services into a single solution. Designed to eliminate the hassle of purchasing, shipping and managing IT equipment, PCaaS improves product lifecycle efficiency and reduces total cost of ownership.

ThinkStation P320 Tiny: the world's smallest ISV-certified graphics workstation

Graphics spaces are becoming an increasingly valuable investment in real estate, so they need to be equally adaptable and performant in any space. The ThinkStation P320 Tiny makes the most of small spaces and delivers the power you expect from a graphics workstation. Easy to configure and compatible with Lenovo ThinkCentre Tiny accessories, the P320 Tiny harnesses the power of the latest Intel® Core i processors and relies on NVIDIA® Quadro® Graphics to achieve ISV certification and deliver the performance required by a range of professional applications. Whether it's developing the latest and most innovative products, designing a skyscraper to the highest standards, or educating tomorrow's entrepreneurs, the P320 Tiny provides the performance needed for the business environment in a small form factor, so that graphics workstations can operate at maximum capacity even in extremely limited spaces.

The process of managing IT infrastructure is simpler with PC as a Service

As new generations of tech-savvy employees begin to prioritize device flexibility and mobility in the workplace, organizations are adapting how they approach and manage the technology available in the workplace. The shift toward agile IT, Choose Your Own Device , and multi-device synergy are shaping our future of personalized computing. PC as a Service (PCaaS) responds to this shift by simplifying the financing, shipping, management, and retirement of IT equipment by integrating it into a single, configurable solution with a fixed monthly price. Companies can select tablets, laptops, desktops, graphics workstations, or software and services, giving end users access to a wider range of devices to choose from and allowing capital investments to grow with the business.

“The workspace is evolving, and so is our PCSD division. The Commercial Business Segment was created to provide our customers with innovative solutions and tools to help them capitalize on the transformation brought about by the digitalization of the business environment,” said Christian Teismann, senior vice president & GM, Commercial Business Segment, PCSD. “The ThinkStation P320 Tiny and PCaaS are just two of the tools we are launching to help IT organizations transform. PCs will continue to be an integral part of the future of personalized computing.”

Unprecedented performance, reliability and quality are the benefits through which Lenovo supports the transformation of the business environment

Lenovo today launched a portfolio of end-to-end data center solutions at Tech World Transform and ISC High Performance 2017 in New York and Frankfurt, respectively, that enable customers to harness the intelligence revolution and create a strong technology foundation that supports business transformation tools such as data analytics, high performance computing (HPC), hybrid cloud services, artificial intelligence and machine learning. Building on its leadership in customer satisfaction and reliability of x86 servers, Lenovo is introducing the most comprehensive portfolio of servers, storage, networking, software and data center services in the company’s history. At the same time, Lenovo is launching two brands specifically designed to strengthen its leadership in customer satisfaction: ThinkSystem and ThinkAgile.

“Today’s announcements mark the next phase of Lenovo’s commitment to transforming the customer experience in the data center,” said Kirk Skaugen, president of Lenovo Data Center Group. “Our leadership in x86 server user satisfaction and reliability, our new ThinkSystem and ThinkAgile brands, and Lenovo’s new data center solutions portfolio deliver the most reliable, agile and high-performance services in the industry. We are confident that we can empower customers to solve their biggest business challenges and become digital leaders in their industries.”

Future Think: Lenovo Rethinks Future-proof Data Centers

This year, Lenovo celebrates 25 years of proven quality, performance and reliability under the Think brand, and ThinkSystem and ThinkAgile data center solutions provide organizations with flexible resources that can adapt to changing business needs. According to a recent IDC survey of CIOs and technology leaders, 72% of respondents confirmed that their top IT infrastructure decisions are driven by supporting digital transformation and business growth. Over the past three years, hybrid cloud services have matured substantially, and software-defined architectures and hyperconverged infrastructure have revolutionized the status quo of IT infrastructure in large enterprises. To respond to these changes, customers face challenges, including evolving infrastructure strategies and defining the best way to support that infrastructure now and in the future.

The new, completely transformed ThinkSystem portfolio, based on Intel® Xeon® Scalable processors, brings together servers, storage and networking under one unified brand that sets the industry standard. ThinkAgile is an entirely new portfolio of software-defined solutions built on Lenovo’s ThinkSystem platforms: adapts to changing IT needs

and, at the same time, reduces the complexity and costs generated by data warehouses in traditional IT systems. Generating even better results when used together, the ThinkSystems and ThinkAgile portfolios enable customers to lay the foundation for a future-proof data center characterized by:

  • Simplicity: Customers often associate technological advancements and advanced IT capabilities with complexity and confusion. The new ThinkSystem portfolio of servers, storage and networking solutions enables customers to address these concerns by giving them the ability to simplify their IT infrastructure. This leads to increased levels of service associated with data center operations, which directly translates into business growth. At the same time, we believe that customers should not base their choice on the fear of being locked into a single vendor or unable to scale technology to meet increased workloads. The ThinkSystem portfolio is designed to seamlessly integrate with any system in which the organization has previously invested, without requiring a complete change to the data center architecture. ThinkSystem combines the best of IBM's Systemx and Lenovo's ThinkServer franchise into a unique solution, based on over 150 global x86 server records: number one in customer satisfaction and number one in reliability.
  • Agility and Flexibility: In today’s competitive environment, customers need to quickly leverage data-driven insights to refine applications, and customer experience is becoming a critical component in a world where companies are struggling to find new competitive advantages in a market where the number of players is increasing. Lenovo’s ThinkAgile portfolio enables integrated solutions to adapt to these changing technology and business needs, delivering the speed, simplified management, and agility of cloud services while preserving the valuable elements of control and governance of the customer’s IT infrastructure. Pre-integrated, pre-built, and pre-tested solutions deliver robust new capabilities for customers’ data centers, including automated lifecycle management, reduced total cost of ownership, and reduced IT resources required to maintain the platform. These solutions include the ThinkAgile SX series for Microsoft Azure Stack, as well as ThinkAgile SX rack-based solutions that integrate networking with hyperconvergence, providing a seamless customer experience. Because Lenovo is not burdened with compatibility with existing networking and storage solutions, customers can be confident that they can move quickly to software-defined systems while benefiting from seamless integration with existing infrastructure.
  • Future-proof: As the pace of technological innovation continues to accelerate, customers will increasingly need the flexibility to adapt to change and the assurance that the infrastructure they deploy today remains relevant for their future needs. We designed ThinkSystem and ThinkAgile solutions, such as the HCP solutions offered by the ThinkSystem SD530, to support diverse operations such as deep data analytics, HCP, artificial intelligence, and the broadest hyperscale environments.

“We have a long history of transformational collaboration and innovation with Lenovo,” said Lisa Spelman, vice president and general manager, Intel Xeon Products, Intel. “The introduction of Lenovo’s new ThinkSystem and ThinkAgile portfolios, designed for Xeon Scalable processors, marks a natural extension of our long-standing commitment to providing customers with industry-leading, reliable data center solutions to support their efforts to harness the workloads brought by next-generation systems, such as artificial intelligence, and deliver world-class service capabilities across on-premises and in the cloud.”.
